Wednesday May 27, 7:30pm. Get ready with blintzes, cheesecake, booze, and learning. We’ll learn all about the fascinating life and times of Shimon Bar Yochai and then the history of blintzes and how to make them at home.

Get ready ( make sure to buy the ingredients listed below)!!

As promised, Dr. Food sent the ingredients for the ‘Real Blintzes’. See you Wednesday for our Tikkun and we’ll learn how to prepare it.

Publix and Aroma are waiting for you to buy the ingredients and prepare the mos delicious blintzes ‘on line’.

Dr. Jeremy Reed AKA “Dr.Food” is an executive chef with over 25 years’ experience in hospitality and culinary arts. Formally and professor and restaurateur Jeremy now operate an IHOP in Pompano Beach near the Isles casino. He has a loving wife Sabrina and 3 children Ethan, Lily, and Hannah.

Blintz Wrapper
1 cup AP Flour
½ tsp Salt
½ tsp Sugar
¼ tsp Baking Powder
2 ea Lg. Eggs
4 oz Milk
4 oz Water
2 Tbls Butter

Cheese Filling
8 oz Ricotta Cheese
8 oz Cream Cheese
1 ea Egg
2 Tbls Sugar
¼ tsp Cinnamon
½ tsp Lemon Zest

Mixed Berry topping
½ cup fresh Blueberries
½ cup Fresh Raspberries
½ cup Fresh Strawberries
4 oz water
5 oz sugar
As Needed Cornstarch slurry

Finishing the blintz:

  1. Take one wrapper and place a couple of heaping tablespoons into the center.
  2. Fold the bottom portion or the circle over the cheese, fold both ends in and then finally fold the top over.
  3. Heat  1/4 stick of butter or oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Place blintz in pan seam side down and brown on all sides.
  5. Place on a plate, top with fruit, and ENJOY!!
